Buy Beetlejuice from Amazon.com
Ok, I am a Tim Burton fan. I liked Edward Scissorhands and the original Batman a lot. He has shown life through a very interesting pair of eyes. Beetlejuice is a little more campy than the deeper Edward Scissorhands, but it is still a lot of fun. Michael Keaton put himself on the map on this one and shows he makes a much better pervert ghost than he does the dark knight. Wynonna Ryder (God I love her) plays one of her first of many excellent roles (including Heathers, Reality Bites, Little Women, and Dracula). Even Gina Davis and Alic Baldwin rock in this movie. The special effects (mainly claymation) are a little weak for this day of computer generation magic. The details really make this movie work. The DVD is 16x9 enhanced and has a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack that isnt too amazing, but at least they tried. There are no extras worth mentioning. Overall an excellent time.
