This one has been rocketed into my top ten movies of all time. Elizabeth is the story of the origin of the most powereful queen of England and how she got there. The Machiavellian twists and turns throughout fit almost a Godfather like plotline. The direction fits the plot perfectly with shadows of the shot fitting the shadows of the charactors desires. The casting is perfect, the shots are flawless, the costumes are perfectly ornate and fitting to the time. Overall, this movie cant get any better, and is easily one of the best movies of its time. The DVD is also a reference level disk with a very full Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack and a 16x9 enhanced transfer. It includes an audio commentary, and a pair of making of featurettes. Overall this is one of the best movies ever made and one of the best DVDs ever produced. A definite must have!
