Bullets Over Broadway is a delightful film. It is fun from beginning to end with a perfect mix of Woody Allen dialog and 1920s flapper / gangster attitude. It pokes a lot of fun at the modern day industry by taking a macro look at theater of that day. John Cusack does an admirable job playing the struggling artist who in a fit of rage runs to his window and yells "I AM A WHORE" at 3am in the morning. Chazz Palminteri as Cheech, the gangster turned critic is a riot. The rest of the all star cast does an excellent job filling out the roles. My only problem was how the dialog dropped from the 1920s to the 1990s in such a short period of time. Woody Allen just doesnt do that great a job scripting period pieces. Still, it is a fun movie. The DVD is a Mirimax nightmare with no extras, a 1.85 to 1 unenhanced transfer and Dolby Pro-Logic sound. Overall a fun movie, but a lousy DVD with nothing over a VHS edition.
