For some reason I thought this was going to be a good Blade Runner brand sf flick. It was crap. From the cheesy political Rodney King ending to the stereotypical friend turns badguy, this movie sucked. About the only redeeming quality is that there isnt a dress below the thigh and we get to see Juliette Lewis topless for quite some time, though her singing makes Courtney Love sound like Sinatra. I guess I wasnt surprised to find out that the same woman who directed this also directed the flops "Blue Steel" with Jamie Lee Curtis and "Point Break" with Keanu Reeves (right after his Speed trip). She sucks. The movie is like one big cliche. The DVD has a soft 2.35 to 1 non-16x9 enhanced picture but a pretty radical 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack that does some good when our hero is "under the wire" (God the space age slang sucked). Well looks like I have used up all of my allowance for the word suck, so I will save and exit. Avoid this one at all costs and go watch the Matrix again.
