Get Carter had a mildly strong premise, which was enough to get a lot of the testosterone filled males of today into the seats, but then failed to deliver anything more. A tough guy (Michael Caine, is a hell of a lot better, so I will be giving that one a spin.
The DVD had a relatively decent 2.35 to 1 16x9 enhanced transfer, and a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio mix that did pretty well for the interesting soundtrack. There is a directors commentary and deleted scenes included as well, though I really had no interest in them. Get Carter looked good as a one line story pitch, but when they actually had to fill in the details they really lost it. It is almost exactly the same premise as Payback, but Payback really did a tremendous job while this one simply walked through the motions. Give this one a miss.
