Any Given Sunday

It's like my ex-wife. 21 different personalities and 7 of them hated me.

I would have preferred to call this one "John Woo's Any Given Sunday" but since it wasn't directed by him, I guess that would be out of line. We have a football movie with a lot of people yelling at each other in between slow / fast motion cuts of guys smashing into one another. Were it not for LL Cool J is in it. One has to wonder whether he demanded to have his music muddying up an otherwise decent movie or he demanded a role after they begged to have his cow-punching like soundtrack muddy up their otherwise decent movie. Either way, it wasn't very good for the film. The DVD includes a 2.35 to 1 16x9 enhanced picture and a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. There are a bunch of extra features, but no commentary track. Maybe I am being overly harsh, it wasn't that bad a movie. You get about an hour and a half of fun football scenes done in the blood opera style of Stone. The other hour and a half isn't as entertaining, but some might feel it adds to the drama. I am not one of them.
