I guess I expected more from this movie than I got. I had only recently heard of this Jack Nicholson gangster movie and the pieces of the plot that were given to me sounded great. Unfortunately, Nicholson plays a lousy gangster and Kathleen Turner doesnt do much better. We are given a twisted plot and a story that should have been more gut wrenching than it was. But because of the wooden acting, it just seemed hollow. The DVDs only redeeming quality is that it matches the original aspect ratio (2.35 to 1) and sound mix. Other than that it is not 16x9 enhanced and has only Pro-logic sound. There are no extras. Overall I have to say that this movie is so far under the real gangster movies (Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, Scarface) that you are better off watching one of them again.
