One of the two classic horror movies I picked up last weekend, The Exorcist is another classic not to be missed. The movie itself is excellent with great acting, a great story, wonderful direction and a good script. The movie has aged pretty well with only the slight amount of dated material (pea soup for demon spew? I kinda doubt it.) One harrowing scene in particular sticks in my mind, the spinal tap performed on 13 year old Regan. It is so horrible that it almost makes the demonic creature and her rants seem normal. There is nothing as horrible as what humans have created themselves it seems to say. There is hell right here on earth. The DVD is excellent with tons of extras, an anamorphic transfer, and a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack (though not really apparent). If you are a fan of the genre and want a classic horror film in your library, this is the disc for you.
