I am a huge fan of the first Lethal Weapon. In my mind, this movie is the definitive cop buddy movie, and was just dark enough to give it a real "wow" factor. Unfortunately they have gone down hill from there. While I love Joe Pesci in Goodfellas and Casio, I just find the character annoying in LW 2 through 4. This one goes a step further by throwing in Chris Rock. The side plots end up taking away from the main plot which wasnt that interesting anyway. The only thing worth mentioning is the bad guy (played by Jet Lee) who is like a 54" version of the Terminator mixed with Chow Yun Fat from The Killer. His acrobatics and martial arts are second to none, and by the time the last scene rolls around you are convinced that like Riggs says "maybe we can go after him with a howitzer". Other than that it was a downer, but no worse than 2 and 3. The DVD is another reference level disc with a powerful Dolby Digital 5.1 track, anamorphic transfer, a directors commentary, interviews and additional footage.
